Playing Tips for Winning Blackjack
Today, blackjack seems to be one of most popular card game choices. This is because Black jack is easy to learn and play. Unlike poker, which allows for player intimidation through bluffing, black jack does not have any combinations to remember.
In black jack, object of game is to get sum total of cards at 21 or closer to 21 than dealer's total.
When a player gets cards that total over 21, hand is lost. Normally, a player receives two cards. After cards are seen, decision must be made whether to stand or take another card (Hit). That decision must be made before game can continue. Stand or Hit.
When a person says "Stand", this means he thinks he is close enough to 21. When he says "hit", this means that additional cards are necessary in order to get closer to point total of 21.
Players can draw as many cards as wanted, until they bust.
Moment drawn cards exceed point sum of 21, hand ends. Continuing to draw is a rule breaker. It can get one expelled from game in some land based establishments.
In Blackjack, combatants are Player against Dealer. One can win, one can lose, BOTH can Push. When both Dealer and challenger have same point total for their blackjack hands, it is a Push. Neither has won, nor lost, their hand.
Good players have devised some tips and strategies to get an edge over other Dealer.
1. If a player gets 17 or higher, it is always better to stand, and if player has any number from 13 to 16 and dealers' Face Up card is 6 or lower, it is best to stand.
But if dealer shows 7 or more, it will be better for player to Hit. Shared belief here is that, if dealer is showing a card of six or lower, dealer may take a card, assuming that dealers' card facing down is a ten.
Major rule of thumb: Players should assume that dealers' down card is 10.
2. If a player has paired aces or paired 8s, it is better to split them, regardless of dealers; Up (Face Up) card.
3. A player should NEVER split 10s. Chances are, you might end up busting each split hand.
4. If dealer is showing 4, 5, or 6, it will be better for a player to stand on hard 12, or hit hard if dealer is showing 2, 3, 7, or higher.
5. In order to win, players could also remember NOT TO SPLIT fours, faces, and fives.
While rules are easy to follow, some tips may require practice. Black jack gambling is a game of chance, but with keen observation, winning is a real possibility.
